KEIZER STAKE WOMENS MINI-TRIATHLON

On Labor Day Weekend the women's organization of our church put on a women only mini-triathlon.  The triathlon consisted of swimming, cycling, run or walk marathon.  Swimming was 60 laps, cycling was 12 miles and the run/walk was 3.2 miles.  There were over 150 women participating and we all had a great time.  It was fun seeing everyone practice for the competition throughout the summer.  Unfortunately we did not seem to have much of a summer here in the Willamette Valley until late July!  I know there are true blue athletes out there that will cycle, run or walk in the rain, but even though I am an Oregonian it has never been my idea of fun.  The triathlon took place in Woodburn, Oregon, and the cycling portion of the competition was particularly enjoyable - the road took us out into the countryside and I just loved it.  In fact, even after the competition into the next month I would often go back to the area and bike - wonderful place to be - very relaxing.

Yep, that's me in the back ... just finishing the cycle event

My friend, Pat, and I taking off for the walk ...

Pat at the finish line ... woohooo

I was actually quite sad the event was over ...

After all had crossed over the finish line there was a big BBQ for all those who competed and families/friends.  It was a great day ... definately plan on doing this again next year.
