Cousin Randy Della, 2011

RANDY DELLA,  July 18, 1960 - September 13, 2010

In May, 2011, a memorial golf tournament was set up in Boise, Idaho in memory of my cousin, Randy Della, sponsored by several of his close golfing buddies.  Randy had passed away in September at a young age of 50.  Many close friends, family and co-workers participated in the event.  For me it was great seeing several family members who participated and meeting those who had such fond memories of Randy.  Marvin was placed on a foursome team with my cousin Linda and her husband, Ed, along with Jay for the tournament.  A memorial tree was placed on the golf course along with a plaque in memory of Randy.  He was an avid golfer.  It was a wonderful event for all and a great way to celebrate his life.

Virginia 2011

In June 2011 Marvin and I made a trip to Warrenton, Virginia to visit my sister, Lyn and her partner, Tim Gentry.   My cousin Robert and his wife Carol also joined us for 6 days.  We enjoyed great food by Bob, the master chef, golf, sightseeing and times of just getting to know each other again.  Marvin and I also met up with his son, Sylvin and his wife, Angela, for a couple of days in Colonial Williamsburg.  Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era .....

No, these are not camp cooks ... they are demonstrating the different forms of handcuffs used for prisoners, deserters and thieves.

Lyn and Tim's home - Warrenton, VA

Lyn and Tim live in a lovely home on the golf course in Warrenton.  There is a great view of the course from the back porch.

This is a copy of the geneological family tree of George Washington, located in the Visitors Center at the Kenmore Plantation (home of George Washington's sister and her husband/family) in Fredericksberg, VA.  I realize you can not read it, but you can get somewhat of a perspective knowing that each little black line is a name of a descendant.  It almost looks like a feather or a huge tree with all these little pine needles.  It was amazing ...
